Make Togetherness.

Harnessing the power of teams.

With the American workforce approaching burnout, grappling with hybrid/remote work arrangements, and many employees therefore instinctively “going it alone,” teamwork is now more important than ever. Atlassian, a leading provider of teamwork software, understands this deeply and keeps teamwork at the forefront of their annual flagship event, Team ‘23. This event engages their passionate customer base and amplifies the Atlassian brand to connect with a global audience. In partnership with InVision, Atlassian launched Team ‘23 with the theme of ‘Impossible Alone,’ highlighting several key elements that benefit from powerful teamwork: inclusivity, sustainability, and play.

Solution

Inclusivity
Team ‘23 leveled the playing field for all attendees with its unified approach to digital and in-person audiences. Atlassian collaborated with InVision to design an intentional attendee journey for digital audiences while creating immersive activations and networking opportunities for those attending in-person. One such activation centered on promoting equitable collaboration, emphasizing the importance of every team member having an equal voice and participation. This activation provided opportunities for in-person attendees to share their personal experiences and discuss how to apply their insights to real-life teams. Atlassian also increased their accessibility efforts to create a more inclusive event with a broader reach. With the help of InVision and other creative partners, Team ‘23 featured live captions, language translations, and sign language interpretations for digital content.

Sustainability
Atlassian and InVision approached every aspect of Team ‘23’s experiential design with sustainability in mind. The design integrated sustainable materials, such as recycled plastics and metals, with urban elements and neon lights to create a sleek, futuristic design. Recognizing that sustainability is impossible alone, Team ‘23 incorporated call-to-action activations throughout the venue. Sustainability fact plaques educated attendees about Atlassian’s mission, while recycling stations for event badges and lanyards invited attendees to participate in Atlassian’s sustainability efforts.

Play
Team ‘23 prioritized moments of play to engage attendees and represent Atlassian’s lively and authentic brand. Atlassian partnered with InVision to design activations such as the ‘Impossible Alone Playground,’ a whimsical space featuring a Lego community garden and giant group games. This activation invited attendees to collaborate and created bonding opportunities for existing teams and new connections alike. Additionally, InVision produced daily highlight reels, trivia, quizzes, and chats to cultivate a fun and engaging environment for digital attendees.

Result

Team ‘23 attracted over 1,800 in-person attendees and accumulated 1.2 million minutes of content watched. Additionally, 90% of in-person attendee respondents felt their objectives for attending Team ’23 were met. In collaboration with InVision, Team ‘23’s digital materials continue to live on as syndicated content, maximizing the event’s longevity and reach. Team ‘23 also garnered global interest in Australia, Europe, and Asia, successfully expanding Atlassian’s brand and connecting with new audiences. The trusted partnership between Atlassian and InVision persists, with even bigger and better ideas already in the works for next year’s collaboration.
