Visions - Make It Inspiring

We Know How to Celebrate
Every year, InVision employees from all locations come together for Visions, our annual company offsite. Visions is a special time to create for ourselves what we typically create for our clients— a fully-integrated, strategic event experience where we learn, bond, and celebrate each other and the exciting work we’ve done throughout the year. And with 2021 marking the 30-year anniversary of IVC, we were even more eager to gather, commemorate, and raise our glasses.
As the COVID-19 pandemic persisted, it became apparent that our usual 3-day, in-person offsite would need to be transformed to prioritize the safety of our team members. We pivoted toward an engaging digital experience, one that uplifted and inspired our teams without adding to the virtual meeting fatigue that so many of us were feeling. Every content touchpoint and virtual session needed to be connected and intentional, and employee recognition was paramount. With no ballroom, no mic, and no IRL interaction, we set out to recreate the energy and excitement of a company offsite and awards celebration in the digital space.
Visions is a critical time for us to share in the vision of IVC and deepen our connections across teams and offices—but for 2021, it had to be reimagined. Who better to create such an experience for us, than us?
Inspire. Educate. Reward. These guiding principles formed the foundation of Visions 2021. With these cornerstones in place, we designed a thorough 3-month messaging campaign centered around four virtual event experiences—a general session in December and January, and a 2-day live digital experience in February. We kept these live programs concise and meaningful, focused primarily on team bonding, networking, and recognition. Utilizing an omni-channel communications approach, we launched a Visions Microsite in November to house educational content for employees to consume at their own pace—including client partnership videos, case studies, and resources on IVC internal initiatives and task forces. Official Visions branding appeared on all email and messaging channels where event content was promoted, and presentations delivered at staff and departmental meetings drove engagement back to the Microsite—the central hub of all things Visions. This omni-channel messaging ensured that Visions was always top of mind, and that learning took place at a time that was convenient for each team member.
In our virtual sessions, building community was the principal focus. To correlate with each live experience, employees received three separate boxes delivered to their homes, filled with goodies designed to engage and excite—from IVC-branded sweatshirts to 30-year sparklers and DoorDash gift certificates. Sophisticated technical production ensured that each session was high-touch and elevated, as InVision’s 30-year 3D-animated logo was woven seamlessly throughout the show flow. For the annual awards celebration The Swooshies, our Digital Experience and Technical Design Teams completely recreated the Zoom landscape to create a highly custom experience. As attendees delved into home-delivered cocktail kits IRL, a breakthrough digital approach created a flowing virtual backdrop of fellow participants in real time – capturing the energy of a live audience as we celebrated our peers. Individual breakout rooms were integrated for team members to further congratulate award recipients, as employees bonded over shared memories, values, and successes.
Visions 2021 took digital engagement and employee recognition to new heights. Our effective omni-channel campaign extended engagement well beyond the final session, creating a roadmap that kept the message of Visions present throughout the remainder of the year. The Microsite continues to house educational content, including new client videos and case studies, as well as resources on best practices and progress updates on internal task forces. Most importantly, Visions 2021 deepened the community of IVC and enhanced our larger employee engagement and recognition strategy. In the Post-Visions Survey, the overwhelming majority of attendees reported that they had fun, understood the direction of the company, and felt inspired, recognized, and continuously engaged.
