Dell Technologies World is traditionally an in-person event with roughly 20,000 attendees, including global partners, customers, users and sponsors. For 2021, the program needed to shift entirely to virtual while still connecting thousands of people from every corner of the world. The power of our partnership had never been more critical.

The need to shift Dell Technologies World 2021 from in-person to virtual meant we had to adapt our traditional approach and delivery. Using innovative techniques and technology we were able to push the bounds of what could be done on a virtual platform. Taking an omni-channel approach allowed thousands of attendees to learn, connect, and play from around the globe. InVision worked side-by-side with a broad spectrum of functions at Dell Technologies including strategy, marketing, experiential, video production and communications.
Our team-based approach allowed for a cohesive and collaborative environment that resulted in attendees, partners, and sponsors being able to curate a personalized experience.
Learn
InVision was tasked with making this virtual event as interactive and informative as an in-person event. Dell Technologies World 2021 offered attendees unique opportunities to learn about new products and services, earn certifications, expand their knowledge through breakouts and hands-on labs, and engage with people across the Dell Technologies’ ecosystem. From deep space to the coral reefs, we leveraged the central messaging of DTW21—moving forward together—across all program touchpoints to drive key learnings.
Connect
This event was created to connect people, technology, and ideas that help us all move forward as we navigate the digital future together. We needed to find solutions to create meaningful connections in the virtual space. Breakout sessions connected attendees across various regions, while live chats and polling during sessions promoted a sense of togetherness even though attendees were separated by computer screens.
Play
Since Dell Technologies World 2021 was virtual, it was crucial to create a captivating and engaging experience that would appeal to broader demographics while reinforcing the message of moving forward together with optimism. We collaborated with Dell Technologies’ Experiential team to create branded, memorable and meaningful experiences, including guided meditations, DIY home projects, science experiments and even a fun virtual photobooth.
Result
We successfully transformed Dell Technologies World 2021 from a traditional in-person event into an immersive virtual experience reaching over 60,000 global attendees. The content from Dell Technologies World 2021 will continue to be available on-demand for a period to allow more people to discover the power and interconnectivity of technology to prepare for the digital future.
